The skin around the eyes is thin, so it shows loosening first: crepey skin below the eye, fine lines at the outer corner, a tired look that is loose skin rather than a bag. The small 12-pin tip, made for the eye area, the lip line and the forehead, treats it at shallow depths, usually in the same sessions as the rest of the face. What it does, and what it does not
The 12-pin tip has the smallest footprint and works at about 2 mm and then 1 mm, delivering radiofrequency heat below the thin skin to contract it and build collagen. Crepey skin tightens and fine lines soften. Under-eye bags that are loose skin improve. Bags that are a fat pad, or a hooded or drooping upper eyelid, need a different plan. Morpheus8 does not treat dark circles or pigmentation directly; pigmentation needs a different treatment, and the clinician will say which at the free consultation.
The evidence
The device is FDA-cleared in the US for dermatological procedures where coagulation (sealing by heat) or contraction of soft tissue is needed. A 2025 safety study that included 364 eye areas, among other zones, reported no darker or lighter patches (hyper- or hypopigmentation), scarring or prolonged redness. The session and the recovery
Numbing cream goes on for 30 to 45 minutes; the eye area is treated as part of a face session of 30 to 45 minutes. Bruising and swelling are more likely around the eyes than elsewhere on the face, so expect the two to five days of redness and swelling to be most visible there; makeup from day two. If you have a low pain threshold, say so, and the clinician plans the numbing around it. The downtime page goes through the days.
The course and the result
Usually three sessions four to six weeks apart, with the eyes treated in the same visits as the face. The change shows from about three weeks, peaks at three months after the last session, and lasts a year or more in our clinic's experience with one maintenance session a year.
